Master’s Student Karan KC Wins Best Oral Presentation Award at ICCAR 2025

Karan KC, a second-year master’s student in the Graduate School of Engineering, received the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 11th International Conference on Control, Automation, and Robotics (ICCAR 2025). This prestigious award recognizes emerging talent in the field of robotics. ICCAR 2025, which gathered top researchers and innovators from around the world, was held in Kyoto from April 18 to 20.

3rd Place at Kansai Spring Robocon 2025

We are proud to share that a team of international students from the Faculty of Engineering achieved an impressive 3rd place in their first appearance at the prestigious Kansai Spring Robocon 2025. The KUAS Robocon team, composed of students from our laboratory, demonstrated outstanding skills and teamwork. They remained undefeated in the preliminary league and advanced to the final tournament. This achievement is a testament to the students' dedication, innovation, and collaborative spirit nurtured in the supportive environment of the KUAS Faculty of Engineering.

Robotics Research Recognized at International Symposium

Faculty of Engineering students Passut Suriyasonboon and Rene Suarez were honored at the 8th International Symposium on Swarm Behavior and Bio-Inspired Robotics (SABRO), held in Kyoto. Their research paper won the Best Paper Award in the Bio-Inspired Design category, capturing the attention of an international panel of experts. In addition, they were named finalists for the Best Student Paper Award in the same highly competitive category.

Nisar Lab Wins Best Paper Award at International Conference

A visiting student team from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), USA, under the guidance of Professor Sajid Nisar, received the Best Paper Award at the 29th International Symposium on Artificial Life and Robotics (AROB 2024). Held from January 24 to 26 in Beppu, Oita Prefecture, AROB is one of the leading global forums in the fields of artificial life and robotics, attracting researchers and students from around the world.

Students from Thailand Visit Uzumasa Campus

After touring the engineering building, the visiting students explored the laboratory of Dr. Sajid Nisar, which specializes in robotics, mechanism design, haptics, and flexible manipulators. Two Thai students currently studying in Dr. Nisar’s lab actively engaged with the visitors, sharing their research progress and answering numerous questions during presentations. Like Dr. Lian’s lab, Dr. Nisar’s students showcased ready-to-use research equipment, captivating both faculty and student visitors.

Dr. Sajid Nisar Receives Best Associate Editor Award at IEEE World Haptics 2023

Dr. Sajid Nisar, Associate Professor at KUAS, was honored with the Best Associate Editor Award at the 2023 IEEE World Haptics Conference (WHC), held in Delft, the Netherlands. The award recognizes Dr. Nisar’s exemplary contributions as an associate editor at one of the leading international conferences on haptics and human-machine interaction, organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
